One of the industry's highest honors -- was established in 1993. The award, in memory of Doug Tanner a respected member of the service industry who was a charter director of the Independent Pool & Spa Service Association and a founding director of Pool Industry Expo, is intended to honor individuals who have made outstanding career-long contributions to the pool and spa industry.

Past recipients include Sally Ryan, Ben Beeler, Ray Arouesty, Bud Borden, Frank Galvan, Carl Johnson, Bob Venture, and Don Wilson. The award, a crystal obelisk and cash, is presented at the IPSSA annual installation dinner dance.

P.I.E. is accepting nomination letters from all segments of the pool and spa industry through October 1st, 2008, for consideration by the selection committee. If the committee judges one or more of the nominees as worthy of recognition, the recipient will be honored at IPSSA's installation dinner in early 2009.

Nomination letters should include details of the nominee's career-long contributions to the pool and spa industry and must be mailed no later than October 1st, 2008 to:
